What happened

In June of 2009 Dawn was diagnosed with Leiomyosarcoma, a rare and aggressive cancer. The initial tumor had grown to a very large size from the wall of the inferior vena cava, which returns blood to the heart from the lower part of the body. It was completely blocked and an entire section was removed resulting in lower extremity circulation problems, although manageable. In July 2010; multiple new growths were discovered in several areas of her body. Dawn left us on Oct 30th 2010, the day before her 49th birthday.
